A member contacted the Club this morning, Thursday 23rd December 2021 to confirm that he had received a message from SA Heath notifying him that he had returned a positive COVID-19 test result after feeling symptoms and having a COVID test in the evening of Tuesday 21 December 2021.
At this stage the Club has not been contacted by SA Health.
The member advised that he played golf at Kooyonga on Sunday 19th December, with a tee time at approximately 9am. His attendance at the Club was within 72 hours of his COVID test.
We have traced his movements within the Club during the day and confirm that the member used the practice facilities prior to tee off and the male toilet facilities closest to the members corridor prior to entering the members’ lounge at approximately 1pm. He sat in the members lounge at a long table with a group of 12 members for lunch and drinks until he departed the club at approximately 3pm.
Staff had very little interaction with the member and were all wearing masks and are vaccinated. The staff involved are considered low risk casual contacts. All members of the group of 12 have been informed of the positive case and are taking appropriate action.
The member subsequently visited the golf shop on Tuesday 21 December 2021 between 1pm and 1:20pm where he interacted with only one staff member, both of whom were wearing masks. The staff member involved was considered a casual contact and is currently isolating awaiting test results.
As mentioned above, we have not heard from SA Health so the Club has taken the action we consider appropriate under the Department for Health and Wellbeing – Assessing and Managing the risk of COVID exposure guidelines.
This email is simply letting you know in case you hear something from SA Health or the Club is listed as an exposure site at some time over the next few days.
Members will be notified of any updates.
Kind Regards,
Brett Lewis
General Manager
